The Solo Sokos Hotel Torni has become a significant landmark in the city of Tampere, and even more rightfully so since winning the award of Lighting Project of the year 2015. According to the assessment criteria, the lighting supports the purpose of use as well as the architectural comprehensive solution, while enhancing the pleasantness of the area, in tune with the surrounding milieu. The lighting meets modern technical requirements and the final product includes creative solutions, while taking even economic and ecological factors into consideration. We wish to thank everyone who participated in the co-operation!

The competition was organised by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) of Finland, RAKLI – The Finnish Association of Building Owners and Construction Clients, The Finnish Association of Interior Architects SIO, the Finnish Association of Architects SAFA, The Electrical Contractors’ Association of Finland STUL, the Association of Finnish Electrical Designers NSS and the Finnish Electrotechnical Trade Association (STK).
