Naistenlahti Power Plant as part of the urban landscape<\/h2>\n\n

The Naistenlahti Power Plant is located near the city center of Tampere, along a recreational route running by the shore of Lake N\u00e4sij\u00e4rvi and a busy bypass road. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hundreds of thousands of people pass by the Naistenlahti Power Plant annually \u2013 including residents, visitors to the city, and users of the bypass road. There was no previous facade lighting, so the ambient and area lighting of the power plant brought the building into view in an uncontrolled manner. For this reason, the area lighting was also decided to be renewed simultaneously. The starting point for the new facade and area lighting was to improve the nighttime landscape, both when viewed from land and from Lake N\u00e4sij\u00e4rvi. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The starting points for the design were landscape aesthetics, graphic monumentality, and commercial image. The main idea is a clear and simple visual appearance that emphasizes the building’s essence and highlights the main masses of the facades. <\/p>\n\n

The new facade lighting brings the Naistenlahti Power Plant to the forefront and creates a modern look for the building. Thanks to the programmable lighting, the building’s appearance can be transformed, for example, according to seasons or holidays, thus ensuring the facade remains interesting for a long time. In addition to scheduling, the system also enables dynamic facade lighting, which allows the power plant’s appearance to be changed from an everyday look to a festive one. <\/p>\n\n

The starting point for the area lighting has been to primarily emphasize functional areas and driveways important for logistics, rather than comprehensive general lighting. Consequently, the area lighting is also structured, and areas secondary to operations have not been unnecessarily illuminated. <\/p>\n\n

Thanks to the intelligent control system, the current area and facade lighting together consume less energy than the old area lighting alone. The lighting adjusts according to the time of day, passing traffic, and the amount of daylight. <\/p>\n\n

The power plant’s facade lighting communicates modernity, efficiency, and quality. Its purpose is to bring joy and vibrancy to the darkest seasons of the year for the residents of Tampere and visitors to the city. <\/p>\n\n
